That's "Brent humor". Shingles. But not the roofing kind, though, we will need to replace those this summer thanks to the hail last year. Brent was experiencing pain yesterday, like a muscle pain, which erupted into the blistery rash of shingles today. Brent knew what it was as soon as the rash started (he's had it a few years before) so it was off to the doctor (in Altona this time, a nice change) and examined, diagnosis confirmed and medicated. Means that anyone who has not had the chicken pox, should stay away from our place since it's caused by the same virus. You can't catch shingles from shingles, or shingles from chicken pox, but you can catch chicken pox from shingles (Shingles fact sheet). We hope since it was caught early, he won't have long term nerve pain that can happen, though he's experiencing enough pain right now that he's pulling out his stronger meds (Tylenol or codeine aren't cutting it). Not sure what that will do to his appointments next week as we don't want to expose others unnecessarily, but we'll have to wait & see what his specialists say.
